Acknowledgement of Country & Community

We honour and pay our respects to the Palawa/Pakana people, the Traditional Custodians of Lutruwita (Tasmania), and acknowledge Elders past, present, and emerging. We recognise the deep connection to land, sea, and community that continues to guide culture, strength, and healing.

We also acknowledge those with lived and living experience of mental ill-health and suicide. Your courage, stories, and voices shape the work we do. We recognise that these experiences can be deeply personal and emotional.
If anything shared here impacts you, please remember that you are not alone and support is available.

Who We Are

THEIRS stands for Talk, Hear & Help, Educate, Inform, Refer and Support.
We are a youth-led, community-driven mental health and suicide prevention organisation founded to respond directly to the needs of regional communities across Tasmania’s North-West Coast.

Built on lived experience, trauma-informed practice, and community connection, THEIRS creates safe, accessible spaces where people can learn, share, connect, and find pathways to support, regardless of age, background, or location.

People are at the heart of everything we do.

Our Approach

Educate

Empowering individuals, workplaces, schools, and communities with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to support mental health, wellbeing, and suicide prevention.

Accessibility & Visibility

Making mental health support visible, approachable, and easier to access, breaking down barriers so everyone can receive equitable care, no matter where they live.

Community & Connection

Creating safe spaces where people can build relationships, share responsibility for wellbeing, and strengthen support networks through genuine connection.

What We Do

Threads Program

Stories of Impact

Behind every statistic is a story. With consent, care, and respect, we share real experiences that highlight the power of connection, community, and lived experience. These stories reflect resilience, courage, and the impact of people coming together to support one another.
Stories are shared with permission and respect for privacy.

Grounded in community.
Led by lived experience.

THEIRS is built on youth leadership, trauma-informed practice, and genuine connection — working alongside communities to create safer, more supportive pathways to mental health and wellbeing.
